already have bike parking on the sidewalk.
Lots of sidewalk space that can safely house a bike station. Right next to subway, across the street from the mall, and a park.
Cars often turn right from St James Ave to get onto Queens Blvd. This street is too short to accommodate a station unless it's placed on the sidewalk.
DOT has made navigation and parking along the streets of the Jackson Heights Historic district impossible since the creation of the 34th Avenue Open Street—which was created despite HUGE opposition from the local community. Add into the mix the designated loading zones, ride-sharing parking spots, and street-side restaurant shanties (most unused and in disrepair) and anyone with half a brain will realize there is no room for Citi Bike stations outside of 34th Avenue. Please remember we have many MTA bus routes passing through our neighborhood as well—buses and bikes cannot share the same routes safely.
This is a designated bus lane. There is no room for a station the street.
There are already bike racks here where people can park their bikes.
Person of color that is a life long resident and this is effecting me and many of family and friends in negative ways! We didn’t want OS and we don’t want bikes!
