NYC DOT representatives led a lesson about bike planning with students from El Puente Bushwick Leadership Center on Central Ave. After providing students with an overview of how planning design bike networks throughout New York City, students broke into groups where they used paper cut-outs to create their own street grids and bike paths, lanes, and shared ways. The lesson provided students with some insight into the challenges and opportunities planners face in creating safer, more equitable streets throughout the city.
