Since the summer of 2014, NYC DOT has been facilitating an extensive, community-led planning process to improve the bicycle network in the neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn Community Board 4. In addition to working with CB4 and its Transportation Committee, NYC DOT held planning workshops, conducted a survey with hundreds of people, presented to multiple community groups, and organized a steering committee composed of community partners and stakeholders. NYC DOT partnered with CB4's District Manager's Office, the offices of Councilmembers Antonio Reynoso and Rafael L. Espinal, NYPD's 83rd Precinct, the Department of City Planning, and the Department of Health and Mental Hygene throughout this outreach and feedback collection process.
Planning for the first implementation phase of the bike network is currently underway with an official proposal forthcoming. Be sure to check out our Events & Outreach page to learn the latest!
