Rockaway Freeway - Beach 38 St - Beach 41 St

What makes the train trestle such an ideal bike/pedestrian location is the fact that it is safe and dry during inclement weather. With a little forethought it can easily be turned into an exit route during evacuations. It will allow cyclists to travel the length of the peninsula East to West, and vice versa, giving the east siders better access to the long wished for ferry.

There is a need for a STOP sign to be placed at the corner of Beach 62nd st and Beach front road. we need one for traveling east bound on beachfront road and B62nd as well as one traveling southbound of B62nd st. We currently have nothing there and traffic is dangerous. Also if we can have Signage for chidren at Play, Slow down on Beach 62nd st. as well as Beach 61st, beach 60th, 59th st. cars are currently speeding through these streets. Also would like to request speed bumps to slow down traffic on B62nd st between RBB and beachfront front.

This subway station and the other stations over the Freeway have space other stations citywide don't have for bicycle parking (especially under the stairs) or even an elevator.

Use this unused space to create a continuous path, uniting the eastern and western stretches of the Freeway. This can be a good place for a park and/or wetlands providing environmental benefits.

Most of the freely runs adjacent or close, parallel, to another street that cars can anddo use, with available capacity. In this specific case, the Freeway is sandwiched between two significant streets; crossing here is like crossing Queens Boulevard. The Freeway should be a pedestrian and cyclist Greenway.
