Eastern Rockaway Access

A transportation study to improve access to jobs, services, retail, and the rest of the city.

Building on its outreach efforts last fall, the agency of Housing Preservation & Development is hosting two open houses for Rockaways residents on Saturday, April 2, 11 – 2 PM and Tuesday, April 5th, 6:30-8:30 PM, both at Beach 41st St Cornerstone Community Center (426 Beach 40th St). These open houses are for residents to learn about and comment on potential strategies to meet the goals in the Resilient Edgemere Community Planning Initiative. (Potential strategies might include things like creating retail hubs, installing safe routes to transit, and strengthening the resiliency of existing homes.) NYCDOT will also be there to discuss potential strategies to improve access to opportunity within Edgemere. No RSVPs are necessary -- we hope to see you there!
