Congestion at rush hour with all modes of traffic.
Please use the map below to provide any feedback, concerns, or suggestions you have regarding the Queens Waterfront Greenway. Please be as specific as possible.
This corridor will close gaps in cycling routes from Long Island City to Astoria to East Elmhurst to Fort Totten. Running parallel to the Long Island Sound, this route will improve transportation options throughout New York City's most diverse borough and enhance park access for Queens neighborhoods with limited green space. Connecting these neighborhoods with an active transportation network will particularly benefit Queens residents living within much of the planning area who are underserved by public transit access.
Congestion at rush hour with all modes of traffic.
Jump back on 94th to GCP
Wouldn't suggest bike route/facilities: Gets crowded, major commercial/truck route and it's dangerous.
Not that many places to cross Astoria Blvd. Most bikes down 31st.
Small park for plane watching. Go on 23rd Ave, the roundabout is less confusing.
Add stop signs on Ditmars.
When GCP backs up, the cars come on Ditmars and rejoin at 94th, using it as a speedway. There are a lot of speeding during mornings.
Ditmars can be busy. Need left turn on Ditmars & 27th Ave.
Riding parallel to park makes sense for routes near Elmjack League fields on 19th Avenue.
19th avenue connecting to 20th was presented to CB1 on June 10. Prefer 19th over 20th because its quieter and gives safer access.
