Don't care about having a bike lane on Ditmars because cannot see waterfront
Please use the map below to provide any feedback, concerns, or suggestions you have regarding the Queens Waterfront Greenway. Please be as specific as possible.
This corridor will close gaps in cycling routes from Long Island City to Astoria to East Elmhurst to Fort Totten. Running parallel to the Long Island Sound, this route will improve transportation options throughout New York City's most diverse borough and enhance park access for Queens neighborhoods with limited green space. Connecting these neighborhoods with an active transportation network will particularly benefit Queens residents living within much of the planning area who are underserved by public transit access.

10/28 Workshop: Prefer 23rd Ave (6.2) because Astoria Blvd. (6.3) can be crazy
Participant like two-way design that exists on existing bike lane 20th Avenue to the west of 37th street.
Possible blockages from businesses on 20th avenue may make the extension of the bike lane along 20th avenue difficult.
Cyclist says that they tend to go on either 19th and 20th avenue, whichever is quietist.
19th Avenue is very industrial. Only ride there on the weekend. Differs during the day versus at night.
Would not recommend route along 19th avenue. Industrial at night. Unless lighting upgrades, etc.
Correction. I meant DOUBLE parking, not public parking. Apologies.
Please add camera enforcement or something else that can deter public parking. It is a common problem in this area of Steinway Street and blocks the path of the Q101 bus.
This area badly needs street lighting. There are vehicle break-ins occuring in this area and constant littering. If a planned bike lane is to be added here, the lighting has to come first because it is extremely dangerous.
