This corridor will close gaps in cycling routes from Long Island City to Astoria to East Elmhurst to Fort Totten. Running parallel to the Long Island Sound, this route will improve transportation options throughout New York City's most diverse borough and enhance park access for Queens neighborhoods with limited green space. Connecting these neighborhoods with an active transportation network will particularly benefit Queens residents living within much of the planning area who are underserved by public transit access.

Ways to improve: PBL, coordination with commercial stores; need to provide infrastructure at destination (bike racks).
Not major cycling destination or experience; big box stores with parking lots; cyclists on sidewalk, road feels dangerous.
8.1 not accessible to cyclists
8.1 has more destinations than other routes, waterfront access.
College Pt Blvd, one of only ways in/out of College Point: wide, redesign to be safer?; hugs the water the best.
8.2 - find way to connect waterfront destinations
Connection to MacNeil Park, is 8.1 the best route to get there? Close to the water but not close enough.
Ongoing Con Ed Propel project; might require further coordination.
Intersection improvements at GCP on/off ramps, PBLs or stop controls.
