Fill up westchester Sqr
Fill up Westchester Square
Best corner for this intersection. Residents can use scooters to/from both train stations on Gun Hill Rd, or wherever else they're going.
This location is close to many restaurants, stores, apartments, and especially transit routes, such as the Bx26 and the Westchester 60, as well as people in the area who would rather ride a scooter the short distance to the 2 and 5 train stations rather than to walk or wait for the bus just to go 2 stops.
If possible, this scooter parking location should be located adjacent to the BR greenway by adding more space on the right side (when facing north) of the path to accommodate for the scooters. If this is not possible then a streetside location should be used. This location is accessible to the aforementioned Bronx River Greenway, nearby many apartment buildings, across the street from a nursing home (allowing for employees and visitors alike to park or pick up a scooter), down the block from the 2 and 5 train, and is walking distance away from the Metro North Botanical Gardens station. While it would have been more ideal for the Pilot program to extend out to include the Metro North station (which has ample space in front of the the station to accommodate for scooter parking) as well as more of Bronx Park, this is an acceptable alternative.
This location has the potential to be a good location for scooter parking. Close to the Montefiore Hospital, allowing employees to park their scooters in a designated location. Close to Metro North and the (2) train, so riders from those transit modes could pick up or park their scooters. Close to the Bronx River Greenway, so people in this neighborhood could have easy access to a bike path so they could travel farther distances into the bronx without encountering any cars. However, this area should first be redesigned to make pedestrians feel safer from cars racing onto the highway. The entrance onto the BRP should be marked with pedestrian crossing lines, signs indicating a crosswalk should be put up, and the bike paths crossing over the BRP on-ramp should be leveled out that way it is accessible to scooter riders (as well as wheel chair users), as the current curbs are too steep for anything but bikes to traverse.
Having an e-scooter location on Gun Hill Road in proximity to the Williamsbridge Metro-North station will help access to this service from the East Bronx
Located on MTA property, allows passengers getting on the train to have an organized designated area to park their scooters, allows passengers leaving the train to have reliable access to scooters to ride home, to the subway, or to the recently restored bronx river greenway.
Good midway point between the Metro North Wakefield station and the 241 Street (2) subway station, allowing users of both station to travel to the stations, from the stations, and between the stations for passengers transferring between the two.
Allows residents in the area to ride scooters to the nearby Gun Hill Road (5) train station or to ride to the bay plaza shopping center
