This area is a transportation desert with no buses or subway lines available nearby. We need a last mile option here to connect us to 179th street subway, Jamaica Center subway, buses, and the LIRR. The pedestrian island is a perfect spot for a few scooters.

This is right next to a transit hub for buses, next to the Central Queens library, the 169th Street subway, and Parsons Blvd subway. Even taking away two parking spots will allow an alternative access to people who constantly use one of the most widely used libraries in the WORLD, a center of community activities. This street is congested with traffic while at the same time being a major area which children use to go to the library. It is also next to a recently built mosque which will allow access to senior people to pray
