Flushing is already transit rich, served by buses and subways routes. E scooters are optimal for underserved areas, not for congested areas like here
Conflicts with Extremely high pedestrian traffic. A lot of seniors and children frequent the area and we want to protect them not expose them to a high volume of e-scooters
The is space on the sidewalk and could be used by residents in the area
There will be no parking
This intersection is dangerous for pedestrians because of the rounded curve which allows drivers to make turns at high speeds. E-scooter parking at the southwest corner should be used to calm traffic and slow down turning drivers.
164th Street and Highland Avenue is a very busy intersection! There is a lot of pedestrian traffic, a huge apartment building with doctors offices, a church, many schools nearby and a park a block away from here. A great location for scooter parking should be here by the Q65 bus stop or at the northwest the corner on Highland Avenue.
Busy playground with athletic turf field and Thomas Edison High School next door.
This is a great location for e-scooter parking as there is a huge rehab center and nursing home is at this intersection. This would give many nurses and guests another option to the nearby Jamaica Center so they don't have to wait for the Q65, which is usually behind schedule.
Near a major mosque with high pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks, 169th subway, multiple bus stops connecting further east Queens and Nassau, Captain Tilly Park, and a major commercial hub on 169th and Hillside Ave. Last mile option and increased mobility options for people in the neighborhood which is severely underserved
Towards the furthest edge, but with sidewalk space
