I agree there should be a 5th avenue station on 60th street but disagree it should be in front of the church. This street has a B63 stop that is used by seniors and large events are held here such as weddings, christenings, etc. Also, the church is beautiful and the station would look weird in front of it. Perhaps the side street on 59th or 60th street.
60th street between 5th and 6th has a driving school. With cyclists near here, it could be dangerous/burdensome.
The intersection of 60th street and 4th avenue is a major transportation HUB with the B9 and R/N Trains Nearby. There is also a green market and public schools within the vicinity. There is also dedicated bike lanes making this an optimal location to put a station.
Location is near the NYC Ferry.
The park entrance at Vanderbilt a very unsuitable location for a Citi Bike station. There is already a great deal of activity here, and adding to it would create a significant new/extra source of noise, foot traffic, and wheeled activity for those of us residing on PPSW between Vanderbilt and Seeley. We already deal with a great deal more auto traffic, foot traffic, litter, and noise than most other residents in Windsor Terrace, largely because this is the only stretch of PPSW that is zoned for both residential and retail. From just across Seeley to the corner of PPSW and Vanderbillt we have: a stop for the 68 bus, a grocery store, a laundromat, a pet food store, a cafe, a bodega, and a pizzeria along with entrances to three four-story apartment buildings. I'm a fan of bicycle infrastructure, but please don't add any new amenity to this already busy block! there are much better spots along PPSW or elsewhere in the neighborhood for a new bike station.
There is a lot of foot traffic on the sidewalks and into/out of the park at the Vanderbilt Street entrance to the park, which would be impeded by a Citi Bike station. There is also a traffic light at this intersection where traffic regularly piles up during rush hours and on weekends (because Seeley St. is a major outlet for traffic crossing through the neighborhood). Adding a bike station to this street equation would create new variables and extra crowding that could lead to more traffic accidents. Putting a bike station here would also lead to many more cyclists entering and exiting the park at this entrance, which is sized solely for foot traffic (unlike the location further up PPSW opposite 16th St, which is designed for motor vehicles, and thus amply-sized for bikes and walkers both).
Take citi bike else where not here especially where you will be taking parking away from teachers.
Wakeman Pl to Owl's head park is now a two-way bike lane. Placing bike rack here allow pedestrian accessible to Ferry NYC Bay Ridge as close as you can get.
The entrance of the greenway leads all the way to Owl's Head Park and NYC Ferry at Bay Ridge.
