Parade grounds is great spot, convenient for biking through park to other locations.
We don't need any less parking, thanks.
The issue at Industry City is that Citibike apparently uses the two existing racks (36th and 39th) to warehouse bikes and does nothing to "balance" the number of bikes. I have been commuting to IC by Citibike for two years and frequently the racks are full at 7:30 am - and in fact sometimes they are full for days. (on these days I don't bother riding) If Citibike would balance the racks at night they could reduce the required number of docks. I have been complaining about this to customer service since moving here with no improvement whatsoever. Before adding additional racks they should maintain what they have.
Outside the largest apartment building in the neighborhood, would be used a lot.
The SE corner of 6th Avenue and 23rd street (along 6th Av) is an excellent location for a dock. It takes advantage of the quiet segment of 6th but moves the dock closer to people's apartments — the remaining block of 6th and the beginning of 24th are almost too quiet and would hide the dock from potential users.
The parking area of (or the curb alongside) the Weir Greenhouse is a perfect spot for a CitiBike station. With the coming renovations, the greenhouse will become the visitor's center for the entire cemetery, and will attract new traffic from the surrounding communities and other parts of the city. Having a dock right at the destination would ensure people could choose citibike for their trips.
This is not a great location for a CitiBike stand. 41st street is a very steep downhill East of 5th Avenue, and it could be dangerous for riders trying to dock/undock there. Docks should be placed on the other side of 5th or along 5th itself.
Not a good spot due to the parking needs of the local residents. It's also no benefit to those using the laundry as carrying large bags of laundry on a bike is not a safe way to move laundry.
This is right in front of a grocery store that already has space in a loading zone for a bike dock location and is ~ 10 blocks away from the dock at 12th street and right at the train station.
