This plaza has one of the few legit grocery stores in Astoria (esp. with Key Food likely closing on 31st) and it is hard to access. Existing park lot has ample space for a Citibike station. Also, nearby is Singlecut Brewery. A station in this location is a necessity so Astorians can bike to get groceries along the 20th Ave. existing bike lane. CrossFit Dynamix is also nearby and needs cycling access. (E.g. vicinity of 20th Ave & 37th Street).
docks need to be evenly spaced throughout the area served.
Need more capacity for northern astoria. Ditmars and crescent is ALWAYS empty.
Great opportunity to serve a residential area and possibly do some traffic calming at a difficult set of intersections.
Expand the territory, until then the edges must be ubiquitous and this is on an edge of residential areas and retail areas
Retail, Retail, Retail
Retail, Retail, Retail
Stations should be ubiquitous on the edges of the territory, and this is a wonderful recreation and residential point
The sidewalk is double-wide adjacent to Saint John's Prep, and with Crescent Street soon to have a protected bike lane (#bike2qbb) connecting to the 20th Ave existing bike lane, there will be more cyclist utilizing this as well a providing access to students.
