Drivers don't understand that they can't get to the rest of Union Turnpike by turning here. As a result, they illegally turn left at Austin Street to continue via Union Turnpike.
Double parking is a regular occurrence here, requiring cars to weave to get through.
Pedestrians are not allowed to cross here, requiring people to either use the subway underpass or go all the way to the other side of 78th Avenue or Union Turnpike just to go across, to the Crossroads Building, the Q37 or business such as Starbucks. People who use wheelchairs can't use the subway underpasses and have to use the long detour. Because it takes so long, people take their chances going over the fences.
Cars rush off of Union Turnpike onto Queens Boulevard. They have to be slowed down.
This entrance should be reopened, and it should be evaluated whether Q46 service could use this entrance.
Tell the MTA to get the wall tiles fixed.
Cars start going into the crosswalk before it is green to zip through the intersection.
This is required to allow fire trucks to get through, but the intersection is way too wide, and therefore, it is hard to cross.
The lack of a crosswalk makes it take longer to get to the Library and other places on 71st.
