The lack of a crosswalk makes it take longer to get to the Library and other places on 71st.
Crosswalks should be installed connecting the medians, which should be widened with tree-plantings and maybe some benches. Without trees the boulevard becomes a wind tunnel during stormy weather. Trees would help deal with that, would reduce temperatures, absorb carbon emissions and would make the area more pleasant.
I often have to run to just make the light. People often just run across the slip to Union Tpke because there isn't enough time, which is dangerous because cars go really quickly.
There are no benches for riders of the Q37. As the streetview shows, the lines are often really long, and some seating would help: especially during the winter.
This slip lane encourages high speeds.
A crosswalk is needed to get from Queens Boulevard to the western side of Jewel and the eastern side of Yellowstone. It is dangerous to cross. A traffic island should also be added.
It is clear that it is difficult to put a crosswalk here due to the turn, but I regularly see people crossing here, and since there is not protection from vehicles they are at increased risk of injuries.
The curve encourages drivers to quickly sped by, often ignoring pedestrians.
A crosswalk should be added between the medians to allow for safer crossings and to allow for reduced walking time.
Separate, truly separate, bike lanes needed. Saves lives.
