Protected bike lane, please.

A protected bike lane is required here. It should have fences or guarding to keep overflowing pedestrians from blocking it.

Need a wider sidewalk here to accommodate frequent times when pedestrians, especially shoppers, overflow the sidewalk. Also need a protected bike lane.

Need a protected bike lane here, on the street side of the bus lane. It is very unsafe here for both bicyclists and pedestrians. Having bus riders cross an active bike lane will be dangerous for both.

Difficult Turn/Crossing
Difficult Turn/Crossing
Queens Boulevard - Van Loon St - Broadway

Since Grand Ave has 2 lanes crossing Queens Blvd from each side, this crossing should start with a left turn signal on both sides since there are so many left turning vehicles. Left lanes would be left turn only. First relieving some of the left turn traffic would make the crossing less crowded.

Most cars crossing QB are actually turning left, so much so that they blockade each other and no one can turn left. Simultaneous left turn signals at the beginning of the light isn't possible bc Van Loon is single lane, but maybe you can come up w a design change? Maybe Van Loon entering QB should not have parking so it can be 2 lanes, which would allow simultaneous left turn signal to relieve left turn traffic at the beginning of each the light. It's also a safety issue bc it's hard to see pedestrians in low light or simply bc of the pressure of the situation.

Aggressive Drivers
Aggressive Drivers
Grand Ave - Seabury St - Queens Boulevard

Drivers turning left into Service Road from Broadway are almost directly in line with Drivers coming north off Grand creating a conflict between Grand drivers either seeking to turn right into Main Line, north on Bway, or left onto QB. Cyclists and Pedestrians are at great risk while the drivers focus on each other as they cram through the intersection. Changes to light phases similar to the delayed NB Green at 69th st /Queens Blvd could be a big help, as well as better medians and crosswalks.

Crosswalk is set back at a strange angle and many peds ignore it and cross straight across the entrance to 51st Ave. Cars are often parked on the South side (East side?) blocking the view of the crosswalk as well.

This entire intersection needs a total redesign. Don't even know where to start - cars turning from n/b Woodhaven into QBL , cars entering/exiting LI Expway onto QBL and Woodhaven, aggressive drivers, poor lighting and inhosptiable pedestrian atmosphere on QBL under LIE, terrifying for even experienced cyclists with no alternate route. Cars double-parked in front of mall. This may be the worst intersection in the entire borough of Queens.

Not Enough Time to Cross
Queens Boulevard - Hillyer St - 51 Ave

pedestrains crossing QBL do so on same green light cycle as e/b motorists on 51 Ave. Cars turning from 51 Ave to QBl frequently speed into peds crossing.
