Speeding
90 St - 57 Ave - Queens Boulevard

Drivers try to take this shallow turn at very high speeds

Long Distance to Cross
Queens Boulevard - 57 Ave - 56 Ave

This skewed intersection is much too long to cross in one light cycle, especially for people with mobility problems

There's rampant sidewalk parking under this overpass

Not Enough Time to Cross
Not Enough Time to Cross
Queens Boulevard - Horace Harding Expressway - Lie Wb Entrance Queens Blvd

This intersection is very dangerous. Not enough time to cross. Cars going in every direction. Pedestrians seem confused at which way is the safest way to cross. Hate crossing here especially with my child. Must rush and then wait. And dirty under the underpass.

Difficult Turn/Crossing
Difficult Turn/Crossing
Grand Ave - Seabury St - Queens Boulevard

This is a major bus to bus and bus to subway transfer, and there is hardly any sidewalk space on either side of Queens Boulevard for passengers to safely wait for busses. These busses are especially utilized by students and senior citizens, vulnerable road users. They need more space and time to safely cross Queens Boulevard between Grand and Broadway. Also, large trucks often can't make the narrow turn and I've seen the block traffic regularly.

Bike Lane Requested
Queens Boulevard - Woodhaven Boulevard - Lie Eb Entrance Queens Blvd

Need a protected bike lane passing the entrance to the LI Expressway here. Must have separate timing to allow bicycles and pedestrians to pass. It is very dangerous, with cars speeding up to enter the highway and not yielding to pedestrians or bicycles. If you are on foot, you have to run past. If you are on a bike, you have to pray.

Aggressive Drivers
Aggressive Drivers
Grand Ave - Queens Boulevard - Broadway

Drivers are extremely aggressive, especially when making right and left turns. Crossing guards are an asset to this intersection, especially since many pedestrians are forced to run across Queens Blvd. to make the light. Significant traffic calming techniques need to be applied in this area, the cars are a huge hazard to pedestrians and bicyclists, and even to themselves. Countless vehicular accidents are counted on this thoroughfare.

Aggressive Drivers
Queens Boulevard - Hillyer St - 51 Ave

Drivers turning left from westbound Queens Blvd onto 51st Ave are very very aggressive here. There's so much distance in the intersection itself before they reach the crosswalk spanning 51st Ave, they're easily going 30 mph (often more)

Queens Boulevard - Connector - Woodhaven Boulevard

This is a very important bus hub, but there's little to no planning for buses. They're often blocked in the stop by taxis and other cars. The road is excessively wide here and could allow for some true dedicated space for bus. And soon there will be SBS routes stopping here, too.

Need better lighting under LIE once bike lane is installed
