Drivers at this location are all impatient and speed up to cross all the time! Sometime they even speed up when making a turn, even when someone is still crossing the street.

The crossing at Queens Blved and Broadway / Grand Ave has been a nightmare. Aggressive drivers who ignore traffic lights, dangerous left turns, jaywalking and failure to yield, you will see the worst of driving and pedestrian all in one place. I think building an elevated overpass is the only way to this chaotic situation.

The city is like a human body. When our arteries are clogged we weaken and are more susceptible to death. The same thing for the city, if you clog its arteries, it becomes sick and could die a slow death. The city is proposing to place bike lanes for the few down Queens Blvd, to the detriment of clogging a city artery.

The street lights lumens should be significantly increased at this intersection, especially factoring in for rainy days. Just the other night I saw an automobile swerve, and could not see why until I could barely see movement of two pedestrians making an illegal crossing on 51st Ave at Queens Blvd. The brighter lighting should go at least 100 feet in every direction from the intersection.

You need 2 light cycles to cross. It is scary and uncomfortable to be stuck on a median with cars speeding by in front and back of you. Widen the medians, slow down the cars, and make the pedestrian crossing lights longer.

While there is a crosswalk here, there is no stop sign or traffic light. The cars come up on the pedestrians quickly. There is little time for drivers to see pedestrians and for pedestrians to see cars coming.

Queens Boulevard - Woodhaven Boulevard - Lie Eb Entrance Queens Blvd

This are is too wide and has too many motor vehicle travel lanes for the volume of traffic it carries. There is ample room against the median for a protected bike lane. This would not only protect people on bikes, but also slow cars that tend to speed through here and improve safety of pedestrians at this intersection at Woodhaven, and the next intersection at Elliot.

Cars speed up to enter the ramp for the LIE, cutting off or crowding out people on bicycles and endangering pedestrians

Huge volumes of pedestrians cross here and similarly large numbers of drivers use this as a route north, including buses. The conflict between peds and cars creates a backup onto the Boulevard and creates a tension that leads to aggressive behavior by drivers.

Queens Boulevard - Horace Harding Expressway - Lie Wb Entrance Queens Blvd

Pedestrians walking between Rego Center and mall have to wait through two light phases here, one to cross to median, and then the next to get across on-ramp. To avoid waiting twice, many cross to median btw onramp traffic and through-traffic while light is red, and then cross where there is no crosswalk when Westbound traffic gets the light.
