No traffic light to tell the cyclists to stop. Most cyclists do not stop because they think traffic lights are for cars and not for them.
East bound cars on 51st. Ave transitioning to the East bound express lane of QB are aggressive and ignore pedestrians crossing the East side of QB. This is especially dangerous at night. Any pedestrian crossing this portion has to be especially vigilant.
Residents at the Pan Am Hotel jump the fences to cross Queens Blvd to get across to McDonalds. They often are with their children in these dangerous crossings.
Mark my words this day; transitions spots for bicycles vs. car are unsafe and will always be unsafe on Queens Blvd.. Transitions are a hazard for all who are crossing those spots, and transitions cannot be eliminated. Bicycle lanes on QB will cause more congestion, reduced parking and with more congestion, leading to more asthma for kids. The proportion of people that will benefit from bike lanes vs. the people who will suffer from their effects is far from balanced. Has an environmental impact study been conducted on any part of Queens Blvd? A balanced study will find that bike lanes are not good for Q Blvd.
cars speed to get to queens blvd.
delivery bicyclists not respecting signals or traffic flow.
conflicting turns
Need to build out bike lane on the whole length. Physical protection (more than just flex delineators) are needed to keep cars out.
