The sidewalk along Ocean Avenue between Lincoln Road and Parkside Ave, right next to pedestrian crossing, and preferably on the east side of Ocean Ave, as that is where the residential buildings are. This is a great, active park, with everyone from school kids to older neighbors to professionals taking a lunch break. The park is also an incredibly popular cut-through to get to any of the stations on Fulton, Atlantic or Eastern or surrounding bus stops. Dean St - Nostrand Ave - New York Ave

Dean Street between Nostrand and New York Ave is bracketed by two large beautiful churches one at the corner of Nostrand with dedicated parking and another at the corner of New York that spills over onto Dean. They have been there before I moved to this block almost 30 years ago and remain an asset. We also have neighbors with driveway cutout that again impinge on the ability to park our cars. The addition of a Citi Bike access point will lead to further loss; our block is largely owner occupied with large commercial buildings, it is also a block that is always featured as an example of historic architecture, the addition of a bike access point will greatly take away from it's asthetic.

A Citi Bike station on Dean Street between Nostrand and New York Avenues would connect well into the existing bike lane network, as there is a westbound bike lane on the street. Another good option would be on Bergen Street between Nostrand and New York Avenues, where there is an eastbound bike lane. As other commenters have noted, there are a pair of churches on the south side of the Dean St block that sometimes attract lots of cars on weekends. The north side of the block, therefore, would be a better option. Thanks for your work.

This spot in front of 243 Buffalo Ave (between the driveways for 241 Buffalo Ave and the Calvary Church) is a great location for a citi bike. There is enough space for two cars, but often cars park in the middle. Thus this spot often only accommodates one car anyways. A citibike station fully utilizing the space would be a more efficient use of the street serving more residents. This particular block on Buffalo combines high traffic with few residential parking needs. - it's near bus stations for the B15, B45, and B65 - the garages at 243 Buffalo Ave open into the church parking lot, so it doesn't block anything - the residents at 241 Buffalo have parking off the street - the residents at 239 Buffalo use non-resident parking at a NYCHA facility - across the street 236 Buffalo Ave has an underground parking area

St. Johns -Brooklyn Avenue, is not a good fit for the community. We must take St. Gregory Church and House of Hills Funeral Home into consideration, in addition to the homeowners who didn't bargain for bike racks when purchasing their homes. The residents on St. Johns Pl, is struggling to find parking and experiencing a domino effect due to previous racks that were already implemented. The bike rack would be better suited on the sidewalk at Brower Park, which is located a block away. The roll-out of this expansion cannot continue to based on bias, discrimination and a hatred for cars. The location is not feasible!

Citibike should consider the roadway (or the sidewalk) frontage at Walgreens (formally Riteaid) parking lot, 1020 St Johns Pl, & the frontage at its neighbor next door - a storage facility. If on the sidewalk, then the parking lot wall would be a good site. Ethel Tyus

The intersection of St Johns Place and Brooklyn Avenue cannot safely accommodate a bike station. Two of the four corners on St Johns Place are occupied by bus stops. The remaining two corners have a church and a funeral parlor where a bike stop would be disruptive so neither corner would be an appropriate location. Besides already having a bus stop, Brooklyn Avenue is already too narrow to for the heavy traffic volume.

strongly oppose a Citi Bike station on Dean Street Between Nostrand and New York Avenue. Our block has one large church on the west end of the block and two large churches to the Eastern end of the block. Parking is a major issue. The church on the east and west of Dean Street are also food distribution sites. Two days a week we have at least 50 to 100 people lined up to get food. Having a bike rack on Nostrand or NY Ave would add to the congestion and crowded conditions on the block.. Parking is already a major issue on our block. Most evenings I wait 1/2 hr to 1 hr for a parking spot. In addition Dean Street has a bus stop on Nostrand and NY Avenues. Based on the aforementioned issues I would request that a Citi Bike expansion project find another location. Besides we already have Citi Bikes on Dean and Franklin Avenue. Let's have some balance and plan for fairness for bikers and folks with cars.

On the North west side of the street is the St. Gregory Catholic Church and South west side of the street is a funeral parlor. Citi bike stations would be very disruptive to these institutions. On both corners of the eastern side are bus stops and the street sidewalk is very narrow. This location is not adequate for bike stations.

It’s really important to serve Flatbush ave between Lincoln and Parkside. This is a dense section of street with many popular businesses. The crowds on the sidewalks, traffic, and double parking show how popular this neighborhood is. Under serving this area would be unfair to the community. Even if putting bikes on Flatbush itself isn’t possible, consider side streets near Flatbush. Only putting bikes alongside the park or on Bedford would leave the busiest section of CB9 grossly underserved.

Right across the street from the Prospect Park BQ station is a good location. This is a very busy area with overcrowded sidewalks, but directly across the street from the subway is spacious and a very-low trafficked sidewalk, since there's no subway exit on that side. Though painting a pedestrian crosswalk is probably necessary, since cars drive aggressively down this street. This block should probably be closed to non-bus car traffic but that's a different discussion.

It makes a lot of sense to place docks right off of flatbush, since Flatbush Ave. already has sidewalks that are too narrow, extreme double parking issues, and generally aggressive drivers. This particular spot is the side of a business, with no entrance and exits and no stoops, but still very close to Flatbush. The sidewalk is probably wide enough for a dock, since its a low traffic side street, but a street dock could work as well.

Street View
Not suitable for Citi Bike Station

Chester Court - Flatbush Ave - Deadend

The end of Chester Court is a bad location for a Citibike dock. While the streetview image shows nobody parked illegally, more often than not multiple cars illegally park past the "no parking" signs at the dead end, making it much more difficult for cars to turn around. When cars are parked illegally, drivers coming down Chester Court to look for parking end up driving onto the sidewalks near the dead end for room to turn around. Sometimes, when multiple cars are parked illegally, drivers have to reverse out of Chester Court, creating a hazard as these cars drive in reverse through the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection with Flatbush Ave. and directly into traffic. Adding a dock at the end of Chester Court, even if on the sidewalk, will make it more likely that drivers cannot turn around and have to reverse out, creating an additional hazard. Many drivers come down Chester Court looking for parking, sometimes multiple cars per minute during busy times. Conditions can already get hazardous, and anything that makes it more difficult for drivers to turn around will create additional hazards. Theres also an issue with standing water at the end of the Chester Court. I'd expect this effects the other dead ends off Flatbush as well.

North or south side of this street would be good - this is right off Flatbush and by a bus stop, so it would get you a location effectively on Flatbush but without the car traffic. There is a spot here at a T-intersection protected by street lights/crosswalks on both sides, just two parking spaces long. It would be a relatively protected location on Flatbush because of the street lights, and it is in an active commercial district and near many residential buildings too. It is important to have stations on the east side of the B/Q train on Flatbush, and not just at park entrances, because you cannot cross over the train tracks here, you have to go around.

Small dead-end road off Flatbush - allows a station to be effectively on Flatbush without the danger of car traffic when locking/unlocking bikes. It is important that there are stations on the east side of the subway line on/near Flatbush and not just at the park entrances, because there are no crossings over the subway line, so it is a long trip to get from here to a park entrance.

Sidewalks on Flatbush Avenue are very narrow and it is a busy pedestrian/commercial and public transit corridor. There are also large residential buildings. Definitely would not fit on sidewalks. For the same reason, citibike racks in parking lane would greatly interfere with merchants loading and unloading, merchant parking, moving vans, buses etc. in addition to individual car parking. Citibike racks in this part of the neighborhood should be limited to park entrances since there is no public transportation across the park. Sidewalks on Rogers Avenue and Nostrand Avenue are significantly wider - up to 25 feet in some locations and could be considered there if merchants are not using for a sidewalk cafe.
