Greenway Benefit for Sandy Recovery

Greenways

Greenways provide safe and accessible corridors for transportation and active recreation through parks and on streets. NYC DOT is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of greenways on city streets.

The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative will host a benefit to support Hurricane Sandy recovery on November 12. All of the money raised at the benefit will go to the Brooklyn Recovery Fund, which will support recovery efforts throughout Brooklyn. The neighborhoods along the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway route are among those affected by the storm, especially Red Hook.

The benefit will include a briefing by DOT’s Greenway czar, Ted Wright, on current Greenway projects.
