NPS Accepting Public Comments on Ft. Tilden Planning Process

The Gateway National Recreation Area has begun the planning process for the Fort Tilden Shore Road – Shoreline Resiliency project. They are evaluating alternatives to address access, safety, and shoreline resiliency concerns at Fort Tilden, Gateway National Recreation Area. The National Park Service (NPS) is working with the Federal Highway Administration to prepare an Environmental Assessment.

The NPS is currently soliciting comments in person or online from interested agencies, groups and individuals and encourages your participation throughout the planning process. The NPS has announced a 30-day public scoping period through March 20, 2015.

The NPS invites you to share your comments and ideas about the project at a public open house on February 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the following location:
