There is a chronic double-parking issue on 74th Street between Roosevelt Avenue and 37th Avenue. The current situation is extremely hazardous: because the street is so narrow, motorists frequently perform dangerous maneuvers to squeeze past stopped vehicles. Furthermore, the wall of double-parked cars forces pedestrians to weave through congested vehicles to cross, drastically reducing visibility for drivers and creating a high risk of collisions. Additionally, the constant lane blockages lead to severe noise pollution from non-stop honking as buses and cars become trapped, impacting the quality of life for all residents. We need regulation desperately!!
Currently, the corridor is plagued by constant, daily double parking. This congestion has reached a critical safety level: I frequently witness vehicles driving on the wrong side of the road for entire city blocks to bypass double-parked cars, creating an extremely dangerous environment for both pedestrians and other motorists. Regulation through dedicated loading zones is desperately needed here to clear the travel lanes, improve visibility at crosswalks, and prevent these hazardous driving maneuvers.
Double parking results in honking all day - it's unbearable! Loading zones on 8th Avenue would make a big difference.
My driver got 4-13 violation ticket. Commercial truck (26 foot box) was making deliveries. Ticket for operate truck off authorized rte. Was this ticket legit ?
There is a new hotel opening at 170 W 48th Street, called voco Hotel Times Square - Broadway. This hotel will require a loading zone for up to 4 cars. This will be for safe guest arrival and departure, while loading or unloading luggage.
Dear Mr. Bray, Thank you for your email of Dec. 16th, 2025 (received at 10:11 AM ET) regarding the installation of an NLZ in front of 230 Ashland Place in Brooklen, I wanted to state for the record that I very much appreciate the work you and your team do for our community, not the least the installation of that Neighborhood Loading Zone in front of 230 Ashland Place in Brooklyn, While I am already aware of the said NLZ, what I wanted to bring to your attention is that the NLZ is very frequently violated and parked over. Throughout the day (while NLZ hours are in effect), vehicles are constantly parked and blocking the NLZ area, rendering loading/unloading impossible. My request is to enforce the NLZ as stringently as possible, perhaps by having traffic enforcers patrol the area regularly and hold violators accountable. Thank you very much, and wishing you and your team a safe and merry holiday season. Best, Edmund Tan (concerned citizen)
Make into Loading Zone for Amazon warehouse VXY1 - trucks loading and unloading all day and need signage to let vehicle know it's not a parking area. Currently there is a NO PARKING M-F 8-6, but it should be classified to a Loading Zone
Teachers double park their cars on the whole street and constant traffic builds up and nobody can pass.
