Horrible constant double parking at an essential intersection
Especially in the evenings there’s usually cars or vans parked on/driving on the sidewalk/being worked on. Sometimes they’re parked there overnight.
There’s almost always at least one car/van/truck/forklift parked on the sidewalk. Sometimes 2 parked side by side blocking the whole sidewalk so I have to walk on the road.
Tractor Trailers unload in bus stop as well as double park
Delivery trucks regularly double park on both sides of Gates Ave which blocks the B52 bus - slowing the bus and creating dangerous hazards.
The supermarket Steve's C-Town located on the north side of 9th St between 6th Ave & 5th Ave gets deliveries where trucks double park. Sometimes when parking spaces (next to the protected bike lane) are available, the trucks park at the curb, blocking the protected bike lane, because it is easier to unload onto the curb. This is especially bad on Friday mornings. There should be parking spaces available for these deliveries.
The east side of 5th Avenue between 7th St & 8th St receives deliveries for Foodtown Supermarket, Leopoldi Hardware, Sav-On Fifth, and sometimes the fish market. The trucks are double-parked and block the bike lane because 5th Avenue is so narrow. Double-parked trucks make it impossible for the B63 5th Avenue bus to pass at the same time that a vehicle is coming in the other direction, and the bike lane is blocked by the trucks. There should be no curb parking for weekday mornings so that these stores can receive deliveries and not double park and not block the bike lane.
Residents of 4610 and 4615 Center Boulevard constantly double park in bike lane to load luggage and unload groceries.
The owner of the The Rug Company store, literally has a vanity plate "RUGMAN" and will park to do business during rush hour when this is an entrance on to the bridge. The entitlement is wild.
