Please remove the Loading Zone sign located at189 E. 18th St. and 201 E. 18 St. The sign is located by two apartment buildings. There is no loading or unloading there, no business.
Taino towers houses thousands of residents as well as 6 small businesses all dependent on commercial as well as residential deliveries. The double parking of large trucks and vehicles compromises the safety of others vehicles driving on this avenue as well as that of bicyclists and pedestrians. it blocks visibility on a road that is majorly congested as it serves as a main vein to the Triborough Bridge as well as the Third Avenue Bridge at all times during the business day.
consider creating a neighborhood loading zone here to alleviate, double parking of trucks and other delivery vehicles, facilitate commercial as well as residential deli veeries to the full block complex and its six businesses while creating a safer pathway for bicyclists and pedestrians.
There is a workers suv parked in the bike like almost daily. He has yelled homophobic slurs at us. License plate HMZ-2810 New York.
This is in front of the CTown that often has its suppliers double park in front of the property or the next block. This is usually in the early morning or afternoon. It is hard to drive in since one lane is turned into a 2-way with other busses and delivery trucks trying to make way to go to either side
This is a huge spot for delivery workers to leave their bikes while taking breaks or waiting on picking up deliveries
There is a black Mercedes always blocking cars legally parked. In the morning, people trying to get out are always honking to get out and waking up the whole block.
This block is HORRENDOUS for illegal parking. If I could have picked multiple options I would say: trucks and cars parked in bike lane, bus stop, and travel lane. Everything, all the time, all at once. Night and day. We get trucks delivering as late as 2AM and they park in the travel lane because they do not care in the slightest about the safety of people who live here. This block is clogged constantly with idling trucks during the day (and occasionally at night) and cars in the evenings due to the restaurants and Dashmart. The bus not being able to pull up to the curb is a problem for disability access. (I know of at least three disabled people in my building including wheelchair users.) The bike lane is very actively used all day and late into the evening and I've seen endless close calls as well as collisions. There are frequently times when I can't see around vehicles at the crosswalks. It's really terrible.
I am the owner of a pizza restaurant located at 842 East 180th Street, where I operate a busy food service business that relies heavily on regular deliveries and pickups. Our small plaza houses seven commercial businesses, most of which also depend on timely loading and unloading of merchandise. Currently, the lack of designated loading zones in front of our location forces delivery trucks to park wherever possible, often resulting in parking tickets for drivers and disruptions to our operations. This creates unnecessary stress for small business owners like myself who are simply trying to keep our businesses running efficiently. I strongly urge the City to consider including 842 East 180th Street in the Citywide Loading Zone Expansion. A designated loading zone here would benefit all the businesses in our plaza and help us avoid citations while supporting safe and legal delivery access.
