Sterling between Franklin and Bedford has tons of double parking that blocks traffic and the bus. This creates a TON of idling noise and pollution and honking and inconveniences all of the riders on the bus. It also endangers cyclists as its also a bike route. Please please add loading zones on this block! Thank you!!!
St Johns Pl between Nostrand and New York (specifically the north side of the block, closer to Nostrand) has tons of double parking that blocks traffic and the bus. Cars often cross the double yellow to get around, but the bus absolutely can not. This creates a TON of idling noise and pollution and honking and inconveniences all of the riders on the bus. Daily excessive honking as a result of: * Police non-enforcement of truck loading zone * Cars park in the loading zone, which pushes Walgreens and bodega-bound delivery trucks into the only westbound lane of traffic * Traffic backs up for blocks and cars honk incessantly * Crossing is less safe for students at the two elementary schools within 2 blocks of the intersection
Every day, a van is parked outside 147 Starr St in the bike lane.
Uber shuttles have been parking there to go to LaGuardia on a regular basis
Parents driving children to school drop them off while stopping in the bus lane, typically before 8am. Perhaps there is a better way forward that works for bus riders, parents, and students alike.
There is a constant back up on this corner with double parked cars blocking the bike lane. This is used as a loading zone for the local ups shop. It is very disruptive for bikers and cars and feels unsafe when it's during rush hour and when you are using your bike with children. We opt for the sidewalk when we bike, especially with kids because of safety

Please bring back the middle intersection where no cars are parked, and were able to go around double-parked cars dropping off and picking up children in the AM and PM.
On Hart Blvd (cross streets Forest Ave to Revere St) there are 3 sets of "Greenstreets" medians. They are in poor condition (curbs broken, vehicle tire marks, dead grass) due to the street being narrow and a high number of delivery trucks and personal vehicles using them as a pick up/drop off area due to the lack of loading zone/parking. The street is densely populated with single and multi family residences, along with multiple apartment buildings. The current median cut-outs/turnaround areas are not large enough for delivery trucks or personal vehicles to stand and result in traffic being obstructed daily. I suggest extending the median openings to provide ample space for delivery trucks, and repairing the curbs and reinforcing them to prevent future damage and discourage parking on them. The "Greenstreets" medians, when properly fixed and maintained, look nice but in their current condition are an obstacle.
