Unsafe Crossing
Unsafe Crossing
Cross Island Parkway Greenway - Cross Island Parkway Et 32 Nb - 28 Ave Pedestrian Overpass

This area accommodates cars, cyclists, and runners and is insufficiently wide to accommodate all these uses. It would be good to redesign this area to support its proper use.

Public Space

Marina Rd - Flushing Bay Promenade - Deadend

Flushing Bay Promenade and waterfront should have more public access - and safer public access. The Flushing Bay is still vastly polluted and so much garbage is being dumped. It should be cleaned up and offer the public more chances to safely walk there and even bring non-motorized boats, too. Would be better with more native plants as well - maybe more environmental educational programs.

Northern Boulevard - Collins Pl - Prince St

The only way for me to get from Flushing to east Elmhurst is by taking the Q66 one stop across this overpass. The bus is unreliable and sometimes will have me waiting 30 minutes to cross over when there is no safe pedestrian path. East Elmhurst and west of there have citi bike accessibility and now north eastern queens has the scooter programs but I am unable to use them in the opposite neighborhoods which would be the only way I could take the longer way across without the bus.

Water access for non motorized boats. Along the promenade there is no dedicated water access spot for kayaks and other small non motorized boats. The community utilizes this the docks at the marina (ie dragon boats) but it would be nice to have a dedicated kayak or boat launch.

Ditmars Boulevard - 100 St - Grand Central Pkwy Eb En Ditmars

This entire stretch of Ditmars Blvd could have one of those classic NYC DOT 2-way bike lanes like on Crescent Street or 20th Avenue. BUT it will absolutely need jersey barriers. The road is definitely wide enough. This year I have biked this section about a dozen times. There is fast-moving but very little car traffic. I have never seen it backed up on either of its 2 lanes. HOWEVER, there are many Ubers and car services camped out on it, they basically take up and entire lane, so there is effectively only one lane anyway. So....give them what they want: one lane of traffic one eastern side, one lane for parking, jersey barrier, 2-way bike lane. It could lead up towards the greenway along to Flushing Bay.

This area will be a challenge. I have no idea how it will be integrated. There is that short path just to the right of the bridge over to LGA, but frankly I have never seen anyone there in dozens of times passing.

Little Bay Park Greenway - Utopia Parkway - Totten Ave

This area here needs to be straightened out. It is full of all kinds of inconsistencies. IT was great 10+ years ago when they widened the path for more users. But it is just chaos. Chaos at a slow speed so mostly nothing bad happens, but it is frustrating. Make a bike only side and a pedestrian side. Re-pave it.

Need for better connection between Citi Field and Malcolm X Promenade

Bike Lane Protection
Bike Lane Protection
Vernon Boulevard - 46 Ave - 46 Rd

Protected bike lane ends abruptly in a high-traffic areas with insufficient marking/protections/signage. Should extend the protected bike lane down Vernon.

Protected lane needed and better connection coming south from the protected crescent bike lane. Major north-south connection to Court sq, trader joe's etc.
