Pulaski Bridge: Trick to get off the streets on the LIC side. It's quite dangerous that people have to dismount from the bike and walk.
Please use the map below to provide any feedback, concerns, or suggestions you have regarding the Queens Waterfront Greenway. Please be as specific as possible.
This corridor will close gaps in cycling routes from Long Island City to Astoria to East Elmhurst to Fort Totten. Running parallel to the Long Island Sound, this route will improve transportation options throughout New York City's most diverse borough and enhance park access for Queens neighborhoods with limited green space. Connecting these neighborhoods with an active transportation network will particularly benefit Queens residents living within much of the planning area who are underserved by public transit access.
Pulaski Bridge: Trick to get off the streets on the LIC side. It's quite dangerous that people have to dismount from the bike and walk.
While exiting from the bridge, it can get really crowded, and if there is a way, make the intersection narrow. Have to watch out when turning towards LIC, high-speed traffic.
Only use 11th Street during the night when it's quiet while coming back to Brooklyn. Even a bike traffic light at the intersection would be helpful - especially while making a turn. Vernon > 49th > Pulaski
Are there LPIs at the Jackson Ave intersection or intersections around it?
1.1 can be a great option and long opportunity, if that is real and possible.
Improving 7.1 would be good - this area is a mess and very challenging.
The bridge part of 7.1 needs work - 7.1 would be the best of these options.
Astoria Blvd is not a good option unless the road will be narrowed.
Making the crossing from 31st Ave for bikes would be helpful to fill this narrow gap to reach Malcolm X Promenade.
To get to Malcolm X - 31st Ave is the route to get there, not any of these options - but prioritizing phase 2 where there's a gap reaching Malcolm X Promenade would be the most logical.
