While there is occasionally public programming on this pedestrian plaza, the narrow corner at the north end seems like a good spot where a dock would not take away usable space. It could replace some planters while still preventing vehicles from entering the plaza.
This poor little concrete triangle deserves a better fate than being a single illegal parking space. Please help it grow up into a strong and proud CitiBike dock.
This is a no-parking space that is not well respected as can be seen in the Street View photo. DOT recently redesigned Cortelyou and CIA to address pedestrian crossing difficulties. Even though there is a dock on the east side of CIA at Cortelyou and Stratford, adding a small station here on the west side of CIA would avoid the need to cross the street and would synergize with the recent traffic-calming measures.
The frontage of the Ideal Food Basket grocery store is unused (the entrance is on the left side of the building, and the windows are covered), but it has a relatively spacious sidewalk. This would be a very convenient spot for people getting groceries. CIA is hard to cross, and there is a long distance between crosswalks here, so a station on the west side of CIA complements well the existing stations on the east side (CIA/Matthews and Cortelyou/Stratford) that are more than 1000 feet apart.
The historic Ocean Ave bike path is a perfect place for additional stations, similar to the Church Ave one a bit north. It connects to the present and upcoming bike network in the area, and it is also very easy to access by bike and foot if the Church Ave docks are full.
As far down on ocean as you can go, and please go even further (newkirk would be great)
good spot near the subways
