Ongoing Outreach Through December

Ambassador completes a survey with a local resident

NYC DOT's Street Ambassadors will be continuing their outreach efforts in Bed Stuy and Ocean Hill - Brownsville through the remainder of the calendar year. Thanks to the help of CB 3, the Brooklyn Borough Commissioner's Office, Assemblywoman Walker's office and Councilwoman Ampry-Samuel's office, we have been able to talk to almost 600 residents about their transportation needs.

We've visited subway stops, parks, pools, churches, public housing, block parties, community council and board meetings, etc. For our final month, we plan to focus on senior centers and one of the most vulnerable populations. Although seniors only make up 14% of the city's population, they account for 50% of all pedestrian fatalities.

Keep an eye out as we continue to update our events page so you can see where we've been, and where we're going. Scheduled events will be preceded by "COMING SOON." Once the team visits the spot, we'll update the event description with a photo and a short recap.

As always, we will have cool giveaways like tote bags, sunglasses, key rings, and magnetic clips for those who participate. Anyone who does a survey with the team can get a giveaway for free, so stop by and chat with us!
