The Department of Transportation will be attending Brooklyn Community Board 3's monthly meeting on June 3rd. This will be the final meeting before the summer recess. Our Transit Development unit will be presenting a proposal for improvements to the southbound B46 route along Utica Ave, between Chauncey St and Atlantic Ave. A summary of the proposal can be found underneath the "presentations" tab along the left side of this page.

The Ambassadors visited the Maria Lawton Senior Center to speak about traffic related safety issues in the community. Seniors are one of the most vulnerable populations in the city; despite being only 14% of the city's population, they account for 50% of all pedestrian fatalities. So speaking with seniors is of particular interest.
We asked about the different modes of transportation residents are using to get around, some of the various destinations they are visiting and what, if any, traffic related issues they are experiencing in the neighborhood.

Street Ambassadors attended the Advisory Board Meeting for Assemblywoman Walker. We spoke to attendees about some of the background for this outreach effort and invited them to complete surveys with us at the end of the meeting.

On Monday, August 30, the NYC DOT Street Ambassadors set up at Restoration Plaza, to talk to residents about their typical travel patterns and any traffic safety concerns they have.
Street Ambassadors kicked off our outreach efforts in Bed Stuy on Sunday, July 29. Stationed outside the International I Love Braids Day + Braid Love Celebration at Restoration Plaza, the team got lots of valuable feedback from residents and folks passing by.
