Greenways

Greenways provide safe and accessible corridors for transportation and active recreation through parks and on streets. NYC DOT is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of greenways on city streets.

In December 2022, NYC Department of Transportation, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the NYC Economic Development Corporation invited community stakeholders to a full briefing on the “State of the Greenways.”

NYC Department of Transportation, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the NYC Economic Development Corporation invited community stakeholders to a full briefing on the “State of the Greenways.”

This webinar followed the announcement of the RAISE grant award, the passage of the Citywide Greenway Plan (Int. 291) by the City Council, and continued public engagement for greenway projects.

A joint presentation by representatives from the three agencies provided an overview of how each agency works on various greenway projects and how the City is preparing to undertake new and exciting greenway work in 2023 and beyond.
