No! Enough parking spaces have already been removed, with citibikes, blocked for traffic flow, etc. Will our electric grid be able to accommodate the extra load? What prevents people from using as free parking? Cars will be lined up in the street waiting to charge.

Location needs EV chargers. This location would be great for those on their way to Manhattan. However, this street is already have busy (right turn to a fork, Citibike, train station, etc.). The block right before may be a better fit.

Great location for an EV charging area. Close enough for TLC drivers to 71st Ave pickup area. And it will help businesses in the area. I also drive a Tesla and live nearby.

No one in this neighborhood uses EV, and many residents don’t plan to - simply because it’s not compatible with our lifestyles. Living in Queens where cars are needed to transport groceries from other stores back home and children to school, RELIABILITY of transport is the number one priority. This is not the case with EVs, even if we put EV chargers in the neighborhood. NYC’s increasingly cold winters (with climate change the cold will become even more extreme) makes it so that EVs are not RELIABLE transport - with battery loss of up to 40% (https://www.efficiencyvermont.com/blog/how-to/fact-or-fiction-electric-vehicles-are-not-cut-out-for-winter-driving). For many residents in Forest Hills that drive to Flushing, Long Island, Brooklyn, New Jersey, etc, we require reliable private transport- and simply EVs don’t meet that cut. Coming from Carnegie Mellon, one of the top schools in the nation for engineering, I can say that placing EV chargers here is a SHALLOW decision that’s lacking in NUANCE, consideration, and critical thinking skills when it come to the actual residents that live here. Placing and EV here is a waste of both the residents’ time and also the City’s time.
