Electric Charging Station Not Wanted
Electric Charging Station Not Wanted
2 W 73rd St (Central Park West)

I believe this is an awful place for an electric vehicle charger. It is densely populated with apartment buildings and so close to Central Park, where millions of visitors come every year. Is unfair to those of us without electric vehicles to lose a spot to electric vehicles. EV charger should be at stations, like gas is available at stations, not on the street. In addition, the city is planning on putting bike lens right around the corner on W. 72nd St., which will impede traffic, parking, and just regular folks getting from their apartment building to the street. A number of the apartment buildings on W. 72nd St. between Columbus and Central Park West back entrances, which we could use to be picked up to avoid the incoming bike lanes, and EV charger will make that difficult as well

Expanding EV charging infrastructure is essential. As climate change accelerates, seeing visible, accessible charging stations around the city signals to drivers that switching to an electric vehicle is realistic, practical, and fully supported for daily urban driving.

Choice is critical and just as the city is Not responsible for building gas stations it should not be further investing in infrastructure which is biased towards a specific groups of people where that same person who has a gas car needs to leave their parking space so that they can fuel up so now we are biasing and favoring a certain class of car owners this is fully discriminating I am completely against spending the money or the effort and disruption.
