Feedback for potential Level 2 Curbside Electric Vehicle Charging in Upper West Side

I am concerned about the proposed EV charging station on this block because the area is already heavily congested, with two-way traffic, buses, and bike lanes operating in a relatively constrained space. Adding a charging station will increase vehicle activity, stopping, turning, and congestion in an area that is already difficult to navigate safely and where vehicles already frequently make illegal U-turns. I am particularly concerned about the impact on pedestrians and vulnerable residents, including elderly people with limited mobility at the nearby care home (New Jewish Home). Additional traffic and vehicle movements will create greater safety risks for people who need more time and space to cross or navigate the street. I support the expansion of EV infrastructure, but I believe it should be located where it can be accommodated safely without further compromising traffic flow and pedestrian safety. I respectfully ask the City to consider an alternative location that would provide charging access without adding additional congestion and safety concerns to this already busy block.
