This location needs EV charging as well as 92-29 metropolitan avenue. As the Captain of the Forest hills vol ambulance corp, we are hoping the NYC DOT adds charging stations by our base. It is welcomed and there is space for it.

Unnecessary to add charging station to this area due to high foot traffic and already congested streets. I’m certain areas with large parking lots can accommodate charging stations as opposed to small residential areas.

I strongly oppose adding additional electric vehicle charging stations in my neighborhood. Our streets already have significant parking shortages and congestion, and the recent expansion of Citi Bike stations has removed valuable parking spaces while further reducing available curb space. Adding EV charging stations would take away even more parking and curb space and could increase congestion as drivers wait for or use these limited spaces. Before adding any more curbside infrastructure, the NYC Department of Transportation should address the existing parking and traffic problems and evaluate whether the current number of Citi Bike stations is appropriate. I also urge the DOT to remove some Citi Bike stations in areas where they have significantly reduced parking availability and contributed to congestion. Neighborhood residents deserve a transportation plan that considers the needs of all residents, including those who depend on their cars, rather than continually converting parking spaces into other uses. Please reconsider the proposed EV charging stations and conduct a meaningful assessment of their impact on parking, traffic, and neighborhood residents before proceeding.

I DO NOT think that we need an electric charging station. People will feel entitled to leave their car for longer than needed to be charged which will cause a line/queue for other cars that will need the charging station. This will cause our street to get backed up and traffic will become difficult or close to impossible. People will also feel entitled to use this charging station as a free parking space. This will be due to the fact that electric bikes have taken away actual parking spots for cars. This can also cause a danger to the kids on their way to school. Cars might not be able to see who is crossing or trying to cross the street. And the most concerning of all, our power grid. This charging station can cause a brownout or a blackout. Our power grid is already being vastly used every day and adding on another source of power will not help this situation, just cause more damage. Oh, actually, there's one more thing. Electric cars in the winter. Electric cars have been known to freeze over in the winter and completely shut down. What if this happens with the charging stations as well? Will the charging stations just also shut down and freeze? It's frustrating enough that electric cars can just shut down anywhere once their batteries die/energy runs out. But if the charging stations just freeze and I mean literally, then what? What are people with electric cars going to do?
