Parking in Bike Lane
Parking in Bike Lane
Utopia Parkway - 19 Ave - 21 Ave

These stores always have people parking in the bike lane. We need to move the cars out into the street and put the bike lane against the curb for a green protected bike lane instead of a Conventional bike lane.

Little Bay Park Greenway - Utopia Parkway - Totten Ave

This bike path is trying to do too much. It's split between walkers on one side and skaters and cyclists on the other. during after work hours this park comes full with walkers who park there cars for free at the parking lot near by to either go play hockey, the dog park, or just to look at a nice view of the bridges. This park is a prime example of cars being subsides will all these road ways and cyclists are given to work with the scraps for paths. And when cyclist win walkers flood into our spaces. I recommended a wider bike lane but that might not even solve it.

There needs to be a fence that goes high enough for cyclists to feel safe. As it stands there is just a stone wall here that comes to waist height. if a walker was to meet a cyclist on this bridge which happens a lot the walker could either maliciously or accidently push the cyclists off the bridge into the creek which is more than a 50ft drop. I can't believe there is not a fence here like there is on the promenade bridges that cross over the grand central parkway.

Very confusing end to a very dangerous bridge path

A bike lane after the northern blvd bridge would be a perfect way to show cyclists that connections matter and there commutes matter. Giving people a preferred direction after getting across the dangerous northern blvd bridge will show them that they can travel by bike to work or even with kids. Instead of just dropping them off at a six lane highway to fend for themselves. Like how bike lanes just end in LA. Also this road needs a complete repave after the construction crew for The Prince apartment building on 35th destroyed this road. It would be nice to see a re-designed paint scheme for a bike lane since your are going to have to redo the road anyways.

Trees pushing up Flushing Bay Promenade cobblestones / paver stones the cause consistent bumps for commuters to be thrown off there wheeled rides. I saw a guy on a e-scooter hit the ground after failed to see the bumps going from sunlight to shaded area. Feels almost like a pump track to cyclists but can cause flats and crashes

Cross Island Parkway Greenway - Cross Island Parkway Et 32 Nb - 28 Ave Pedestrian Overpass

The whole cross island park bike/walk path protects cyclists and runners/walkers from motorist that are moving upwards of 70mph(speed limit 55) by a single metal interstate guardrail. If a single accident happens at any significant speed on the interstate this puts pedestrians in danger. At interstate speeds a northbound vehicle could easily flip over or bust through the guardrail killing any pedestrians on the other side. I recommend a large stone barrier to be put in place. The same that are used for greenways to keep cars out. This will also keep road chat out of the bike lane which is closer to the interstate side. I have even gone home with cuts from trucks/cars road chat hitting me while riding.

Totten Ave - Cross Is Pkwy Nb En Totten Ave - Totten Ave

Please consider building a pedestrian/bike bridge to make this segment accessible for all ages and abilities. Currently conflict with traffic traveling to/from clearview expressway and cross island parkway makes this unmanageable for all but experienced cyclists, and risky even for them.

Unsafe Crossing
Unsafe Crossing
Bell Boulevard - 34 Rd - 35 Ave

The crossing in this intersection feels dangerous because of the combination of factors: 1) Cars speeding up to turn right, especially when there are people in the crosswalks as they want to turn even before people start crossing the street, 2) Cars coming in and out of the two gas stations, and 3) the diner and the restaurant in this intersection. It would be very helpful if an advance light signal is given to allow pedestrians to cross safely, especially given that there is a public school nearby and a lot of school kids are in the area.

Pedestrian Path - 135 St - 136 St

If there is a 15th Ave connector, a Greenway segment could be integrated into Frank Golden Park, providing connections to Powell's Cove and possibly to the old Airport.
