This corridor will close gaps in pedestrian and cycling routes from Long Island City and Astoria to East Elmhurst and College Point, Queens. Running parallel to the Long Island Sound, this route will improve transportation options throughout New York City's most diverse borough and enhance park access for Queens neighborhoods with limited green space. Connecting these neighborhoods with an active transportation network will particularly benefit Queens residents living within much of the planning area who are underserved by public transit access.

There should be clear signs from LIRR stations to the Greenway system. Improved connections could boost economic development, as the business districts aren't close to the Greenway, and visitors often need food and drinks after a day of activity.
Joe Michael's Mile is a beautiful community asset, but there's a lot of noise and exhaust pollution alongside the CIP - can anything be done to improve the experience for folks?
There's an opportunity to build a bridge crossing the creek here. This would allow access behind the NYPD/FDNY training facilities (so as not to disrupt them) and enable greenway users to circumnavigate the fort, which would more deeply integrate it into the greenway.
Turning from the Little Bay Greenway to Fort Totten and to Joe Michael's Mile is difficult. There's a desire line there, let's formalize it.
Redesigning this intersection, making it modern and accessible to everyone, would allow the construction of a greenway for runners, walkers, and bikers from Utopia to 149th.
Tallman Island is a DEP facility, working with DEP, the team could propose a way to connect both adjacent greenspaces
Closing this section of the service road creates the opportunity to run a greenway alongside the CIP
Queens Block 4148 Lot 7499 has no owner listed, which usually indicates that it belongs to the city. If so, this could be used for a pedestrian and bike bridge that crosses the expressway here.
132nd St Extension could be a greenway segment connecting College Point Fields to Frank Golden Park
25th Ave is wider; thus, you can build a connector from College Point Blvd to College Point Fields here. From there a greenway is possible alongside the park or through the park to the 132nd St Extension
