Electric Charging Station Wanted

Please install a Level 2 curbside EV charger at or near the corner of Bennett Avenue and West 190th Street. Our neighborhood desperately needs more public EV charging infrastructure. There are currently very few practical curbside charging options in this part of Upper Manhattan. The chargers on Fort Washington Avenue near West 165th Street are frequently occupied, and other options require traveling into the Bronx. Bennett Avenue would be an excellent location. I would not recommend Broadway because of the parking restrictions, metered spaces, and heavy traffic. Bennett Avenue is primarily residential and would provide convenient overnight and everyday charging for residents who do not have access to private garages or driveways. I also know families living on Bennett Avenue who would like to purchase an EV but are holding off specifically because of the lack of accessible charging infrastructure. Please consider Bennett Avenue and West 190th Street for a Level 2 curbside charger. It would meet a real neighborhood need and help more residents make the transition to electric vehicles. Thank you for taking the time to hear our concerns and consider our neighborhood.

GREAT place for a charging station, wide sidewalk, lots of citibikes here already, lots of cars nearby. Great choice. I live near here.

I live near there. I have a car that’s not electric, but I’d get an electric car next time if there was a charging station! I’d only worry about blocking corner sight lines or the crosswalk. And please don’t take out the antique fire box! We love that on our street!

If lots of chargers are being installed in the neighborhood than this is a fine location, but if only one is being installed in northern Washington Heights, this is a less accessible option than the ones down closer to Broadway, as anyone not already in the immediate vicinity would need to drive up a steep hill to get to it and there aren't many thorough roads back to the rest of the Heights.
