I am thinking of getting and electric vehicle, but lack of charging stations nearby is delaying me from getting one. I'm waiting until there is enough charging stations around to make the decision to purchase one.
TLC drivers, please use the map below to suggest a curbside (on-street) Level 2 charger location. Please provide as much detail as possible about why it would make a good location.
Level 2 chargers provide about 25 miles of range per hour of charging, and are best for locations where you might park for a few hours to overnight. For more information on curbside charging in New York City, go here.

Having an EV charger nearby offers TLC drivers the convenience of easily recharging their vehicles during downtime, ensuring that they have enough battery power for their shifts without the need for long detours or significant downtime.
Many TLC drivers live around there and some have TLC EV's it would be nice if they did not have to plug their vehicles to charge overnight far from their homes.
Very busy location
All kinds of trucks, large 18 wheelers and tractor trailers and pickup truck duallies who park there overnight and for days on end. These vehicles regularly get ticketed but the trucks remain there for days on end with no consequences. Installing a series of charging stations there would be convenient for many local TLC drivers because: A) the F line on Mcdonald is right there, there is an MTA bus line that runs there as well. B) this is largely non residential and will not negatively affect parking in residential areas which normally prevents owners of normal vehicles from parking near their own homes. C) It would justify light patrol by NYPD to prevent vandalism against tlc vehicles and other owners of EVs D) It would justify cleaning up the 18 wheelers who park there for days and weeks on end. E) The cross streets along Bay Parkway can be extended between 59th and Ave J going past McDonald To be clear even though this would make a good area for EV charging stations overnight for the reasons I outlined and EV's should be given priority, I do believe that 18 wheelers should also have a place to be able to park as well and therefore there should be reasonable accomodations for 18 wheelers as well as parking for people with normal vehicles to be able to visit the graves of their relatives at the cemetery in the area. This is a very long stretch of road where I believe allows for a lot of compromise while at the same time giving ample room for EV's to charge for sufficient amount of time to be able to charge to a useful range. I am also a TLC driver. Milovidov is my last name, so if you really need to contact me you can look me up through the TLC driver database. I dont intent do purchase an EV I hope I wont have to any time soon. Nonetheless I respect the necessity and believe that my suggestion offers a reasonable compromise. Additionally I might help stimulate development of the McDonald area for more than the current largely industrial type that is there now. The overhead train line is noisy but with a large swath of EV charging stations in the area it may stimulate development of eateries to accomodate drivers and other travlers. The area does not accomodate overnight residential because of the overhead train station.
no charging around here
